2. Panel Submissions

The KACA holds a panel session featuring teaching at the 2011 NCA. The theme of the panel session at the 2011 NCA for KACA is “Teaching in a Learner-Centered Environment.” A learner-centered environment imposes students of learning roles and responsibilities, which go beyond taking notes and taking tests. It gives students opportunities to approach to learning in a collaborative and interactive manner. The professor casts a topic or project to students through teaching and guiding related skills and knowledge about the subject both in and out of the classroom. Students eventually accomplish their learning goals in the process of completing the work. Examples of learner-centered learning can be class exercises, class discussions, group works, and other student-involved learning activities. The KACA seeks panelists who can present learner-centered teaching skills, ideas, and practices used in their own class and turned out a success. The submission of panel proposals pursuing the convention theme “Voice” reflecting students’ involved voice in the learning process will be welcomed.

All panel proposal submissions must be made through the All Academic System online (http://ww4.aievolution.com/nca1101/). Panel abstracts must be uploaded to the site by March 23 at 3:00 AM EST 2011.

Additional details about panel submissions are provided below.

·  A panel abstract’s length is 1-2 pages.

·  All abstracts must be submitted online in either Microsoft Word or PDF file format.
