Call for Papers for
International Communication Association Meeting in 2015
The Korean American Communication Association (KACA) will hold a competitive paper session at the annual conference of the International Communication Association in San Juan, Puerto Rico, May 21-25, 2015.
The KACA paper session has a tradition of presenting state-of-art communication research endeavors relating to Korean-related communication themes, including but not limited to the following areas: intercultural- or cross-cultural studies; communication and new technologies; advertising, PR, campaigns; journalism; political communication; science, health, environment, and risk communication; circulation of Korean cultural products in the world. Furthermore, we welcome studies reflecting the conference theme of “Communication Across the Life Span”in the context of Korean society.
Those who are interested in presenting at the KACA paper session should submit a completed paper reporting on new research. Completed papers are limited to 25 pages in length (double-spaced excluding references and tables, with 12-point size and 1 inch margins). A brief abstract (less than 200 words) is required. Three anonymous reviewers will evaluate submitted manuscripts in terms of quality of theory development, the methods employed and significance of the findings.
When submitting a completed paper, a separate cover page is required. The cover page should include the title of the paper, name(s) of the author(s), department(s) and affiliation(s), mailing address(es), e-mail address(es), phone number(s), corresponding author if different from the first author, and presenter(s) if different from the first author. For blind reviewing of submissions, all author identification should be removed from the document except the cover page. The manuscript that receives the highest evaluation for faculty and student paper competition, respectively, will be selected as the Best KACA Faculty and Student Paper, and will receive a small cash prize and a certificate. Only completed papers will be considered for the Best KACA Paper Award.
Those who are interested in presenting at the KACA paper session should submit their papers to Dr. Seungahn Nah by November 16 (Sun), 12:00 P.M. EST of USA by e-mail (seungahn.nah@uky.edu)
You do not need to be a member of the ICA or the KACA to submit a paper for the session. However, if your paper is accepted for the session, you will need to (1) register for the conference and (2) attend the conference to present your paper.
