한국 언론학회의 무궁한 발전을 기원합니다.

 

2017년 미국 시카고에서 8월 9일부터 12일까지 개최되는 AEJMC (Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication) 학회 기간동안 KACA (Korean American Communication Association) 리서치 세션 에 발표할 논문을 아래와 같이 공모함을 알려드립니다.

많은 논문을 발표할 수 있는 기회를 마련하고자, 올 해에도 2개의 세션을 준비하여 우수 논문을 채택하려고 계획하고 있습니다. 해회 학회에 논문 발표를 계획하시고 계신 많은 분들께 좋은 기회가 될 것으로 생각합니다.

논문 제출 마감일은 4월 8일 토요일 저녁 11시 (미국 동부시간 기준)입니다. 기존 AEJMC 마감일은 4월 1일이지만,편의를 위해 마감일정을 일주일 연장하였습니다.

또한 full paper가 아니더라도 연구 결과등이 포함되어 있으면 extended abstract도 응모가 가능합니다. 참고로 모든 발표 논문과 발표자는 AEJMC 학회집에 수록됩니다. 논문 주제는 한국과 관련된 저널리즘, (매스) 커뮤니케이션 모든 주제가 가능합니다. 논문의 제출은 함창대 교수의 이메일 (cdham317@illinois.edu) 을 통해 제출해주시기 바라며, 다른 세부 사항들은 아래의 영문 공지를 참조하여 주시기를 바랍니다.

Call for 2017 AEJMC Papers

 

Title: 2017 AEJMC Annual Conference (100th Anniversary) KACA research session invitation

Location: Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, USA

Time: August 9 - 11, 2017

 

The Korean American Communication Association (KACA) invites you to submit original research papers to 2017 AEJMC – KACA competitive research sessions. Research topics that focus on various aspects of media and communication studies related to Korea are welcome. The AEJMC-KACA sessions embrace various theoretical orientations and methodological approaches to research.

 

Guidelines for All Submissions

 

1. Deadline: All submissions must be made no later than 11pm, EST, April 8 (Saturday), 2017

 

2. Categories of Submissions (two categories):

1) Full papers

 - 25 pages maximum (no more than 25 pages), plus references, tables, figures, and all notes.

 - Consistent with the APA style, paper should be 12 points, time-new roman, and double-spaced.

2) Extended abstracts

 - 5 pages maximum, plus references, tables, figures, and all notes.

 - Consistent with the APA style, paper should be 12 points, time-new roman, and double-spaced.

 - Extended abstracts should contain literature review, research questions/hypotheses, a detailed method section, and actual findings (NOT expected findings). Abstracts only with literature review or research questions would NOT be considered.

3) Full papers are preferred. Only original research will be accepted. Research studies that already presented, submitted, or accepted for presentation or publication should not be submitted.

 

3. Submission process, requirement, and paper award

1) All submissions must include a separate cover page and an abstract with approximately 250 words. A separate cover page should include the following information: Title, name(s) of the author(s), affiliation, mailing address, email address, and phone numbers.

2) Author Identification: Names and all information that may identify the author(s) should not appear anywhere in the paper other than on the separate cover page.

3) All submissions will be blind reviewed by two or three referees/reviewers with expertise in the area.

4) For paper submission, authors do not need to be a member of KACA or AEJMC. However, once the paper accepted, at least one author of the submitted paper should register for the conference, and attend the conference to present the paper at the KACA session.

5) The best paper(s) (best faculty paper AND/OR best student paper) will be selected and awarded a cash prize. Only full papers, not extended abstracts, will be considered.
