Warmest greetings!

 It’s a time for you, a member of World Communication Association, to prepare to join the 2019 WCA conference, Wellington, New Zealand, July 8 – 12, 2019.

 The Headquarters of WCA and the local committee for the 2019 WCA conference began to send the ‘Call for Paper’ and other important information to the whole of WCA members. It’s a time for you to check your schedule, and prepare to participate the 2019 WCA conference according to its important time schedule.

 Through pre-visit of three Executive Committee members, President, SG, and CFO, and several meetings with the local committee members, especially, Dr. Stephen Croucher, it is surely reported that the local committee for the 2019 WCA conference has prepared it so well with professional staffs and highly advanced systems. Conference venues, session rooms, highly advanced facilities, transportation systems, hotel and accommodations, opening and closing ceremony spaces, etc. were well prepared. Especially, University of Massey, as a main venue, and the city of Wellington were multiply cultural-oriented and friendly to foreign visitors.

 The main theme of the conference is ‘The Global South and North: Communication and Cultural Perspective’. Through this main theme, you could present and discuss various controversial issues between the Global South and the Global North such as ‘challenging the long-time biased reputations between them’, ‘finding similarities and differences in communication and cultural perspectives between them’, ‘searching for converged ideas and perspectives between them in the era of New Liberalism and Post-Modernism’, ‘suggesting some productive thoughts for resolving serious conflicts between them’, etc.  

 You could deal with such issues from your academic knowledge and professional experiences. The WCA will welcome scholars and graduate students from various academic areas such as ‘cross-cultural communication’, ‘culture and education’, ‘culture and power’, ‘culture and politics’, ‘ethnicity and geopolitics’, ‘global elites and geopolitics’, ‘semiotics of communication’, ‘cultural studies’, ‘discourse studies’, ‘public relations’, ‘health communication’, ‘‘organizational communication’, ‘business communication’ etc. Particularly the Association of Business Communication join the conference as a co-host academic organization. It is highly expected that many interested and creative ideas should be suggested by scholars and graduate students of the business communication field.

 Now You have to check several important date and information for the 2019 WCA conference likewise ‘deadline of submission of abstract and/or full paper’, ‘length of abstract’, ‘format of full paper’, ‘registration’, ‘hotels and accommodations’, etc. The Call for Paper provides such important information in detail.
